Pastor
At present there is no pastor; the church is looking forward to the day when one can be appointed. However, we do currently have part time pastoral assistance from Basil Howlett
Style of Worship
Sunday morning is a traditionally led service that includes a Bible based children’s talk. We use Praise! Hymn book and other hymns and songs using a digital projector and an OHP. Musical accompaniment is by keyboard. Church Bibles and scripture readings are from the NIV; -members of the congregation bring their own favourite versions (NIV, ESV, NKJ, etc.). During the sermon there is a Sunday School for children. If needed a crèche is provided for younger children
Church history
The church was started in a builder’s hut shortly after World War 2 by a group of students from ‘All Nations Missionary College’ (that was then located in the near-by village of Taplow). As the work developed, land was allocated by Maidenhead Council for a permanent building. The local Parkside Brethren Assembly encouraged members to support the growing work and provide the leadership. The church continued in this persuasion for about 30 years until it was decided to become associated with the ‘Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches’. More recently we have also joined ‘Affinity’ (a church centred partnership for Bible centred Christianity). We currently have 20 to 30 people people meeting regularly on a Sunday.
The church is located on a housing estate of about 1,000 homes (many now privately owned). The church building is capable of holding 80 - 100 people. There are excellent facilities for people with disabilities and our own car park is right next to the church.
